Paul Zink, Owner Paul Zink is the owner of Footsteps of Reston. He has been involved in running since his high school years in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was State Cross Country Champion in 1965. He continued his running at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1997, Paul was ranked first in the country in the 1500M and 800M by National Masters News in the 45-49 age group. At age 50 he was National Masters Indoor Champion at 800M and third in the mile. Although the mile is his first love, his range of events has gone from the 4x400 relay at the Penn Relays and Millrose Games to the JFK 50 Miler with Boston and other marathons in between. In 1998 he organized a cross country motorcycle trip in conjunction with running the first Rock 'N' Roll Marathon in San Diego. He has combined his love of running with his business background and has owned and managed running stores since 1985. Since 1999, in addition to owning and working at the store, Paul has kept himself very busy as a full-time flight attendant for American Airlines. Paul is flying international and based at JFK, so if you don't see him at the store, he is probably trying out a new running route on a layover somewhere in Europe or South America. |
